Therapy That Meets You Where You Are — Bay Area & Online California
What “Tonalli” Means
Tonalli is a Nahuatl word meaning “life force”. The energy that connects us to ourselves, our community, and our path forward.
At Tonalli Therapy & Consulting, our work is rooted in honoring that energy, supporting you as you reconnect with yourself, your story, and what matters most.
Meet Adriana (Founder)
I’m a therapist, but more importantly, I’m a human who understands how complex life can feel.
Whether you’re navigating identity, relationships, trauma, or feeling overwhelmed, therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of things, and feel supported in a way that actually fits your life.
My work is shaped by who I am: a daughter, mother, Latina, immigrant, Bay Area raised, neurodivergent, and breast cancer survivor. These parts of me aren’t separate from the work- they shape how I show up in it.
I understand what it means to hold multiple identities, care for others while trying to care for yourself, and move through systems that don’t always feel built for you.
Tonalli was created from that understanding-
a space where you don’t have to shrink, over-explain, or leave parts of yourself behind. A space where you can show up fully and be met with care, context, and respect.
Our Mission
We exist to make trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy accessible — especially to communities who've historically been left out of mental health care. We believe healing happens in relationship, at your pace, and rooted in who you are.
Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive.
That means:
We consider your lived experiences, identity, and environment- not just symptoms
We move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable
We show up as a real person in the room, not just a professional role
Trauma-informed. Bilingual. Anti-oppressive. EMDR + IFS + parts-based work. Always collaborative.
Who We Work With
We work with teens, adults, couples, and families across the Bay Area and California navigating:
Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
Life transitions and identity exploration
Trauma and past experiences
Relationship and family dynamics
